Photo#1:Gettysburg Address
Lincolns Gettysburg Address
Fourscore
and seven (87) years ago, our nation was created and dedicated to the
proposition that all men are created equal. We are now in a civil war
which is testing whether our nation can endure. We meet on a great
battle-field of this war, to dedicate a gravesite for those that died in the
battle.
We
must dedicate ourselves to the cause for which these brave men died, so that
they did not die in vain - that government of the people, by the people, for
the people shall not perish from the earth.
Photo#2: Harry Truman, he was the man who made the decision to drop the bombs on Japan. His decision I think relates to Lincolns statement about dedicating ourselves to the preservation of our government. The bombs were dropped to end the war and save many American lives.
